Hodaka Team Wins Combs 2-Day Qualifier Warmup!!
High water level made for some interesting crossings after the flatbed truck (used as a bridge) was washed away.
Also check out Roger Paris' gold medal well deserved after loosing his $6K Husky GP250 off a waterfall sat afternoon in a water crossing. The club retrieved the bike Monday - drained all water and filled with oil in all nooks and crannies waiting for tear down. Lucky Roger!
And a round of applause to all our Hodaka riders who medaled both days:

We had a lot of interest. Handed out several Hodaka Club applications. Many
people told us their stories of how their first dirt bike was a Hodaka. Harlem
Diem was there. Earl Burrows bought 2 Hodakas. I will let him tell that story. I took
some photos, but my wife didn't like the ones I took. Paul Burke took some good
ones. I have attached a photo of the dinner and one from the booth.
Fred Guidi, Roger Duttry, Paul Burke, Earl Burrows and I had our bikes on display.
I had my laptop playing videos of HD 2005/06/08. Also Leo's trials videos from
06,07 and 08.
Magazine articles highlighting Hodakas and Hodaka Days were on display.
Paul's Hodaka history/story book was on display.
We were not permitted to sell parts there without a PA sales tax number.
Mike Perrett was asked to write something up. (Below)

York report from Mike Perrett
January 24, 2010, a contingent of East Coast Hodaka Junk Yard Association members converged in York, Pa. for the Potomac Vintage Riders annual vintage motorcycle swap meet. This event was held at the York County Fairgrounds on Sunday. With most of the ECHJYA members staying at Motel 6, our winter convention banquet was located at the nearby "Round The Clock Diner". Attending were 6 members, along with three of the members wives, these being of the ECHJYA ladies auxiliary. With a menu of "good ol' fashioned" USA style food, there was no lack of conversation at our table. The usual Hodaka topics were discussed, but the annual ECHJYA Allegheny National Forest trail ride was the most popular. After much discussion, the following details were approved.
1. With the ANF ride being in Western Pennsylvania and with the driving distance factor for most members, it was established that the ride should be for one day only. A reason noted for this was that the "Ben Gay" ointment has supposedly deteriorated in quality, but some believe the quality of our members has deteriorated instead.
2. We will be staying again at the Marieneville Microtel motel again. All members thought that the motel had good service.
3. It was agreed that the trail leader, Mike Perrett would "pre ride" the trails, so that he might be able to remove the title of "The Turn Around King". Joe Evans of Cleveland, previously expressed interest in riding the "pre trail ride" to "cement a firm knowledge of the terrain, just in case".
4. We decided that we should limit the displacement of the bikes at the ride. It was stated that, with the near "cardiac arrest" of having the Kawasaki 650 behind us last year, the displacement limit is set at 1000 cc. That is 61 cubic inch to those John Wayne fans.
5. An interest has been expressed on creating a tee shirt, commemorating the ECHJYA ANF ride. No design was submitted, but member Rick Mott will investigate the possibilities.
On a final item, we did have a short discussion. It seems that some of our members are offended by the neat appearance of other members salvage yards. A notice will be sent out, urging all members to keep their "yards" like that of "Sanford and Son". This will be an ECHJYA standard for the future.
With the business items finished, the rest of the evening was devoted to the future of Hodaka brand and of course, the riders.
